Sparkling City by the Sea

This slogan belongs to my beloved hometown, Corpus Christi, Texas. I don't know if the town is as glamorous as it's slogan, but it is filled with some of the most dear people in the world to me, my family. I had the privilege, thanks to Mom and Dad, of spending the past week with them, and it was great! Kennedy had a blast playing with her cousins, and feeding Papaw's fish and turtles. Dad built a coi pond in his yard a few years back and a turtle named "Scout" and one named "Tiny Tim" have taken up residence there. Kennedy loves to visit and feed Scout. Dad wanted to send "Tiny Tim" home with Kennedy, but we assured him he was a pond turtle and needed to stay in Corpus. The mall in Corpus has a carousel and Kennedy loves to go ride the ponies. So, she got to ride the carousel twice once with Nana and once with Papaw. We also got to enjoy some yummy Mexican food, which is one thing I really miss about Texas. They have a mariachi band that plays on Friday nights, which we enjoyed, but with which the kids were not the least bit interested. So on to some pictures.

Meeting Tiny TimLetting Tiny Tim sit on her lap.WOW Tiny Tim, no crawling up the pants!Enjoying the carousel with Nana.Having some yummy Mexican food. Can you tell Paxton's ready for some too.

Kennedy and JosiahMariachi Band, the lady in the red looks about excited as Kennedy was.

After dinner, Mom took the kids to Toys 'r Us, so they could show her what they wanted for Christmas. Dad thought Paxton might be interested in this gift.

Mom got Paxton this outfit for Christmas, we made him model it for us. He is always so compliant.

This video cracks me up. I was trying to get a picture of Kennedy on the carousel, and everytime she would come by she would say "Hi". So I decided to change to video and as you can see both her and Mom are speechless.

I love Corpus! Haven't been there in years. I agree with you on the mexican food. This Texas girl misses good ol' mexican food.

I miss Texas as well!
