Thankful in Tulsa
Ken's sister, Bonnie, hosted Thanksgiving in Tulsa this year. As always, Bonnie was a wonderful hostess and we had a great time. We drove in on Thursday morning and Gigi was busy making a great meal for us to enjoy. Kennedy had a blast playing with her cousin, Quincy and was so sad to leave her playmate on Saturday. One of our favorite parts of the trip was Friday night when we headed over to Adair, OK to ride the Christmas Train.
Just outside Adair, OK is a small park called "Dry Gulch USA" and they have a steam locomotive that runs through the outer rim of the park and narrates the story of Christ. As you go from scene to scene it alternates between live scenes and picture boards. Even though it is called the "Christmas Train" the train does not end with the birth of Christ, but continues on to the sacrifice and resurrection. Just like the "Christmas Train", I'm so glad that the story does not end there. That because of the His sacrifice and resurrection we can have eternal life through Him. The miracle of Christmas is amazing, but even more amazing is the continuation of the story. This Thanksgiving, I have so much to be thankful for, but they all pale in comparison to the free gift of salvation.
