Christmas in Corpus

I figure I better update on Christmas before we get too far into 2009. We had a great visit with my family in Corpus and the weather was WONDERFUL!!! We left here on Tuesday before Christmas at around 2:30 and drove through the night. We figured with two small ones they would sleep most of the trip so it would be easier on them that way. They were both great travelers and real troopers, but they did NOT sleep much at all. We got into Corpus at around 3 AM, and both kids greeted Nana & Papaw with smiles and chatter. After a little visiting we headed to bed only to have Kennedy wake us around 7:30 in the morning. She went non-stop the whole trip. We've been home since Monday night and we are still trying to catch our breath from our whirlwind trip.
My parent's church did a great Christmas Eve's service that celebrated "Christmas Through the Ages". There were performances from the Andrews Sisters, Elvis, Alvin & the Chipmunks, and the SNL Spartan Cheerleaders. Christmas day the temperature was 75 and it was amazing. I never thought I would be happy with a warm Christmas, but it was a nice change from all the cold we have had up here. We are so blessed to have family with which to spend the holidays.
