Hibernation Day
A couple of weeks ago, Kennedy's school celebrated Hibernation Day. They had been studying hibernation as one of their winter themes, and so to celebrate everyone wore their pajamas to school. Kennedy is one of those children that really struggles with being in control, and bless her heart she will worry herself silly over the details of EVERY situation. So, I tried to prepare her for the big day by telling her in advance what was going to happen and what she could expect. Well, this concept just blew her mind, so for two days straight she asked:
"Am I going to eat lunch in my pajamas?"..."Am I going to play in the gym in my pajamas?"
"Am I going to ride in the car in my pajamas?"..."Am I going to take a nap in my pajamas?" You get the picture. Needless to say, she had a great time and it was a fun change from her normal routine. She is learning that change isn't always so scary.
