Thanksgiving 2010
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Branson. We headed up Thanksgiving day in the freezing rain, which later switched to snow, but despite the cold we had a great time. We met up with Ken's family that afternoon and went down to the Landing for a little shopping, and then had dinner on the Showboat Branson Belle. The food was really good, and the show was cute. They give you a little intermission time to go tour the boat, including the fourth level deck. We all went up and outside for a look around, even though it was FREEZING!!! All the outlet stores in Branson open at midnight, so we thought we would venture out. Ken thought we were all crazy, so he stayed back in the room and watched the kids, not that there was much watching going on at midnight. At any rate, we got there about 11:30pm and it was CRAZY PACKED!!! We could not believe the lines, the crowds, the cars... I ventured into several stores only to turn around, because there was nothing I needed bad enough to stand in line for an hour for. So, we've been there done that, don't think I'll ever go back. On Friday, we spent the day at Silver Dollar City, again very cold, but lots of fun nonetheless. Saturday, the kids spent some time in the pool, mainly the hot tub, or "hot pool" as Paxton called it, and then we went back to SDC. The weather was much warmer, but he crowds were much larger on Saturday. It was a great Thanksgiving, so thankful for all my family and the time we got to spend together.
