Space Center and Kemah Boardwalk
The last day was spent at the Houston Space Center. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed this part of the trip. As soon as we got there we headed back for the tour of Johnson Space Center. This was my favorite part of the tour we got to sit in the actual Mission Control. It was amazing how little technology existed at the time the space program was really evolving. Ken and I talked about how much appreciation we had for this part of the tour since we had grown up watching shuttle launches live as kids. After the tour we had lunch in the food court and continued exploring the Space Center. After we finished up with NASA, we headed over to Kemah Boardwalk. The kids had a blast on the rides, but it was HOT!!!! We stopped to cool off for dinner at Bubba Gumps and then took the kids back to ride more rides.
Loading up for the tram ride out to Johnson Space Center.
Mission Control - small piece of trivia - those are NOT computers at those monitors and the small round tubes are like the ones at the bank and they were used to send messages through out the building (so glad we have email now).
These are the modules used for the Space Station.
Saturn V - this thing was huge and the rockets were unreal.
Kemah Boardwalk - this crazy spinner ride was Kennedy's favorite. She rode it at least 8 times.
Paxton won this enormous alien at one of the boardwalk games.
