Out of the Mouth of Babes
Sunday afternoon, we sat down with Kennedy to try to explain to her what had happened. She did her best to comprehend in her four year old little mind. And she had several questions, which helped us realize that she doesn't quite grasp what we were telling her. Since that conversation she has been asking me a lot of questions about heaven, and let me tell you they are questions that her 36 year old mommy doesn't know how to answer. But there was one that had me thinking a lot about these past two days, "Mommy, our prayer didn't work." Of course, we took the opportunity to explain that God sometimes has a different plan then we have, but that doesn't mean that He does not hear our prayers. I continued to dwell on her statement for some time. I remember a dear pastor of ours, make a statement in a sermon several years ago, "Faith doesn't change God, faith changes me!" I love that! We think all too often that if we believe hard enough, or say it loud enough, or even behave good enough, that we might change God's mind and he will say "Awww, okay, you can have what you want." But in reality, if we truly seek Him, he will give us more of Him. Which is really all we need. I'm so thankful that God uses children to teach us lessons at times.

Please continue to keep the Arnold's in your prayers. They will be gathering as a family on Thursday to share a time of remembrance for these two special babies. I know it will be a difficult time, but also a time of healing.
