White Christmas

I realize everyone else in blogger land (at least the ones I read) where super excited to have a White Christmas. Everyone expect the Wilson clan. We were unfortunate enough to get stuck in the Oklahoma Blizzard 2009. We left our house Christmas Eve morning around 9:30 bound for Norman to spend Christmas with Ken's family. A normally 3-4 hour drive turned into 11 hours and we didn't even make to Gege and Popee's house that night. After sitting on the turnpike for 4 hours and moving a whopping three fourths of a mile, we ended up staying the night in a hotel on the north side of Oklahoma City. It was not my ideal Christmas, but we were safe and together so that made it all okay. We did make it to Norman the next day around noonish and we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas with Ken's family. You would think in 4 hours I would have thought to take at least one picture or get some video, but I did not. I did take a short video of Ken's parent's house 48 hours after the storm. You can still see how tall the drifts were even after that amount of time. Stay tuned, I was a busy little traveler over the holidays.

My brother-in-law lives in Edmond, and told us that he was snowed in for four days. It looked like it was a bad storm. I can't believe how long it took for you guys! Traveling is hard enough with two kids without adding the blizzard to it. I am so thankful that you guys were safe and had a great Christmas. Can't wait to hear about all of your travels over the holidays!
