I Love America!
We had a great low key 4th of July weekend. We have been busy with travel and have another trip coming up this week, so we were looking forward to a low key hangout kind of weekend and it was great. Saturday was spent with some shopping and lunch and then spent the night in. On Sunday, our church put an awesome celebration service together called I LOVE AMERICA!! It was absolutely amazing, from the music, program, honoring the military, and sermon it all was fantastic. We cooked out at home for lunch and then we headed back up to church that evening for fireworks. We got there about two hours early so we could see the outdoor baptism service and then the fireworks. Our favorite sno cone place was on site selling sno cones, so we all indulged in a little frozen sugar. After the baptism (of 70 people) we had to wait for it to get dark so the kids played ball, took pictures, and ran around on the lawn. The fireworks were great, we had the best seats, in my opinion. Monday we slept late, Kennedy and I went out for some more shopping, and then we grilled out again that evening. Around 9:30 we sat out on the driveway and watched our local city's fireworks. We had a great view from our front yard, so it was nice to let the kids watch in their pjs and then send them off to bed afterwards. Since our city allows fireworks to be shot off in the city limits, the last few nights around her have sounded more like a war zone. They are only allowed to shoot them from July 1 to July 5, so tonight should be nice and quiet.
