Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend

After we left New Orleans, we headed to Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, AR. When we drove to NOLA, we crossed the state of Arkansas from the NW corner to the SE corner, as we headed home we crossed Louisiana from the SE corner to the NW corner. So, needless to say, we saw a lot of state. We did pass an Alligator Park that boasted to be the largest in the nation, Ken offered to stop, but the clouds were rolling in and looked like lots of rain. Good thing we kept going, cause a massive storm hit just after we passed. If I ever cross Louisiana again, I would like to stop. So anyways, we made it to Hope, AR and stopped for the night. The next morning, we drove to Crater of Diamonds State Park to dig for diamonds. Ken really liked it, and would like to do it again. The kids were interested in it for about 20 minutes and then they got bored, and I could have cared less. I can say I've been there done that, but that's all I care to say :)

However, there was a really nice water park at the entrance of the diamond field that the kids spotted as we got there, so they really wanted to swim. So, we turned in our equipment and headed to the pool. Funny story from the pool, there was a slide that Kennedy rode about 50 times, she was tall enough to go by herself, so Ken kept an eye on her up the ramp and down the slide. At one point three boys, about the age of 9-10 years, cut in front of Kennedy on the ramp. Ken could see Kennedy from a distance put her hands on her hip and begin waving a finger and telling them something. Next thing you know, two of the boys slowly moved behind her in line. She may be small, but she does not let anyone push her around. We spent a couple of hours at the pool, had lunch and got back on the road home. The water park was a little pricey, but since the kids slept pretty much all the way home, we thought it was money well spent :)
