Cousin Camp 2010
Last week we spent the week in the beautiful Texas hill country on Lake LBJ. It was so much fun and a wonderful break. My sister, Leanne, planned a great time for the kids and adults as well. I have a ton of pics to share so I will have to break this post down to a few different ones. We headed down on Saturday, and stopped over in Denton to visit with some friends. We had a great visit, ate some yummy Italian food, and after church on Sunday and Fuzzy's fish tacos we headed down to Burnet, Texas. The trip down was quite eventful. Poor Paxton was diagnosed with an ear infection the prior Wednesday, so he was on an antibiotic which was a little rough on his tummy. We had stopped for fuel and I got the kids a snack and drink, as we were heading down the road Kennedy said Paxton has something all over his hands. I looked and thought it was the Nutter Butters that I had given him, and I realized it was NOT. So, after a quick roadside clean up we finally got on our way. My parents took everyone out on Sunday night to celebrate Ken's birthday and then we went back to the cabin for the evening activities. Leanne kept the kids very busy with lots of fun and games. She had planned a "snake hunt" for them where they hunted for plastic snakes outside in the dark. Kennedy was the winner and received her first trophy, she was so proud.
On Monday, we visited an Exotic Zoo in Johnson City, Texas. We have been to a drive-through safari before, but this one was by far the best. Instead of driving yourself through, you ride through on an open air trailer where the animals come right up to the trailer to be fed. The tour guide did a great job and shared some great information about the animals which made it more enjoyable.
Josiah & Paxton in the petting zoo.
Garrison & Kennedy feeding the goats.
This little goat just made me laugh.
Aunt Sarah, Papaw, and Nana waiting on the trailer for the tour to start.
Dad feeding a buffalo.
Jaden & Adyson feeding Sally the camel.
Elivs the ostrich, he was a really aggressive eater.
